Google got an FIR from Indian PM's VHP Member

Following ‘derogatory remarks’ to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi by Google in 2015, VHP member, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has come to play ‘Avenger’ by registering an FIR against Google. This incidence, as reports state, occurred in 2015 but Vishwa, who holds Modi in high esteem would not let go easily.

On 11 May, the Superintendent of Police, Kamal Kishore confirmed that the FIR had been registered under different sections of the IT Act. Then on speaking with a Google representative, they denied being aware of the complaint, saying that they wouldn’t make comments yet as to what they know nothing about.

The issue had been raised in the year 2015 on social media and Google had apologized for putting Modi’s image in the list of ‘Top 10 Criminals in India’; and also features alongside terrorists and murderers. Other victims were US President George Bush with Libyan Muammar Gaddafi. Indian victims were Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal, lawyer Ram Jethmalani, actor Sanjay Dutt and fugitive underworld Don, Dawood Ibrahim.

In their own words, they said they were sorry for any confusion or misunderstanding the images must have generated. The US-based-search engine operators mentioned that the search results were not their doing and wasn’t a reflection of their opinions at Google.
